The trek takes you to the base camp of the second highest mountain in Bhutan – the mount Jumolhari – the “abode of goddess” The mountain is considered to be the haven for the Goddess of Prosperity and Longevity – the Tashi Tsheringma according to the nomads living around the mountains. Trekking up to the base or looping around to finish, there are stunning landscapes along the rivers and streams that maybe enough to justify the daily walks that averages 8 miles each day. But the chance to have glimpse of the peak at 7314m/ 23, 997ft while camping at its base (13800ft) will make every breath up worthwhile.
