The Kingdom of Bhutan is dreamland for mountain bikers not only because it is mountainous! but the land has also every terrain known to challenge oneself on, surrounded with natural beauty of high snowcapped peaks and mountains, or virgin lush forests or deep river or wide glacial valleys, or clear fresh mountain springs and waterfalls that are studded with centuries old temples and medieval forts!
There are biking trails in different parts of Bhutan, including around the capital city. But riding on motor-roads that have hardly any traffic can be as enjoyable, even though the looming lorry around the bend sometimes can be bit jarring, which luckily one will quickly find the trucks (or any vehicles for that matter) move at snail pace on the mountainous winding roads.
While our program concentrates on taking you on the biking trails, there are parts where you will ride on the road. We can make it more technical or less, depending on your preferences. Our 7 night 8 day biking program is merely representative in what is possible in biking – after all, this is the land where the toughest one day bike race in the world – the Tour of the Dragon is held every September.
We can also help you participate in the race and get you acclimatized for it on pre-trip. Contact us to learn more about it. Book now with bike frame size! We will have them oiled and ready to go!
